I see the district moving forward on a positive path. The implementation on the Strategic Plan should continue in a progressive and thoughtful manner. I look forward to working with Dr. Cyndy Simms. Her leadership style will allow the board to continue to work and generate respectful relationships between all stakeholders, maintaining the integrity of education. In moving the district forward the guiding force must always be the welfare of our children. We must continue to educate our future generations not only with academic knowledge, but also equip them to be happy, healthy, productive citizens. We are privileged in this district to have a dynamic group of educators who are committed to our children. Our staff on Mercer Island is our most valuable asset. I believe we can find creative ways to support our teachers and complete our district goals in a fiscally challenging environment.
