King County Local Voters Pamphlet

November 4, 2003 General Election

Bellevue School District No. 405
DIRECTOR DISTRICT NO. 04, 4 YR TERM

Candidates:

Jan Still — Nonpartisan

I am seeking a second term on the school board as part of the team working to make Bellevue the best school system in the nation; we are poised to fulfill that position.

Children start out with big dreams about their future, and the role of a school board member is to create a system where these dreams can be fulfilled.

Soon we will have research showing how our students compare to international students in math and science, research funded by our generous community. Using the research results, we will strengthen an already rigorous curriculum. With 90% of our graduates going on to college, our first obligation is to insure they are prepared, and the curriculum is key to their preparation. An equally important obligation, and one to which we are committed, is to find as many ways as possible to support students who struggle academically. All students must succeed.
