Roger Thordarson, a native Washingtonian, graduated
from Whitman College with a B.A. in Business and Economics. Roger served in the
U.S. Army and began his career with Boeing.
Roger moved to Auburn, spent 25 years with the
Auburn School District as a manager/administrator, and acquired skilled
techniques in negotiation and problem-solving, including dealing with
governmental authorities on transportation and jurisdictional-issues.
Although he tried retirement Roger continues to
serve, lead, and be involved with several Auburn, King County, and other
regional authorities and programs. Roger was honored by the Auburn City Council
as a "Hometown Hero" in August 2002, for his sincere commitment and dedication
to local service.
Roger's skills in administration, management, and
problem-solving will help move Auburn forward through the city's future
challenges with parks and recreation development, transportation solutions, and
the revitalization, enhancement, and development of downtown Auburn.
