King County Local Voters Pamphlet

  As a small business owner in Maple Valley and a recent alumnus of the Tahoma School District I feel that my experiences can make a positive impact on the education of students. I believe that balancing a budget and finding a compromise are two important fundamentals of any working entity, which I have learned through trial and success. From these elements which I have acquired I will help direct the Tahoma community in understanding and developing the necessary skills to find the best solution/s to create an efficient School District. In doing so my help and expertise, along with your vote will make an example of Tahoma for other districts to follow. With cooperation and a joint effort we can make Tahoma the best possible school district. The message I would like to leave to Tahoma students and the community is anything is possible with perseverance, integrity, and the will to succeed.

  Six years ago I was appointed to the Board and throughout my service I have exercised a "kids first" objectivity. My primary concerns remain student safety and achievement, funding, construction, fair boundaries, and the hiring, retaining, and training of quality teachers. My job is to do whatever I can to be certain that all our children will be prepared to succeed beyond their Tahoma years. Being from a household of limited means allows me to bring an important perspective to the Board; an appreciation of a free public education, a strong desire to assure it's quality, and a checkbook understanding of the associated tax burden. So far we've parented our daughter from Kindergarten through Eleven in Tahoma. Prior to the Board I was very involved in the PTSA and have, for nine years, been the man in the white beard at the annual LWES/GPES Holiday Breakfast. Your support is appreciated.
