I
was raised in an education family - my father was a school administrator and my
sister is a teacher. My siblings and I all attended public schools and public
universities in Washington. This has instilled deep within me the value of a
quality public education system. I have lived in Issaquah for over 10 years.
The events
of the last year in the Issaquah School District have highlighted the need for
change on the School Board. I have a strong background in union labor
relations, including acting as lead negotiator and participating in multiple
labor contract negotiations. My management experience includes over 15 years of
responsibility for substantial financial operations and responsibility for
difficult fiscal decisions. Finally, I have a strong record of leadership. I
believe these are the exact qualifications that the school board needs in a new
director and ask for your support and your vote.

I am focused on bringing our district together to
create an educational environment second to none, where all children are
provided the opportunity to realize their potential. I am committed to
listening and seeking input from parents, teachers, students, staff and our
community, to building positive relationships with our labor groups, to
ensuring strong support for our classrooms, to developing sound longterm
financial plans, and creating a clear focus on our ultimate goal - student
achievement.
Having served on the Issaquah Valley Site Council,
District Curriculum Program Review Team and District Budget Committee, I
understand the issues and concerns we face within our district. As President
(and formally CFO) of a technology company, I bring extensive experience in
finance, accounting and business operations. I have the leadership, skills and
fresh ideas necessary to meet today's challenges. When elected, I promise to
listen carefully, work collaboratively and focus on our children.
