King County Local Voters Pamphlet

  The Shoreline School District is the heart and soul of Shoreline. I want to work with the Teachers and Administrators of the Shoreline District to improve the quality of our children's education. Together we will find the means to provide a comfortable and productive learning atmosphere for students from all backgrounds. I will support measures that will bring more money to the classrooms. I will encourage parents to take a more active part in the processes that control the education of their children. I will actively support sidewalks in school walk areas and safe crossings of high traffic streets.

  I have lived in Shoreline for 33 years (4 children K-12, active in City affairs, Hillwood Neighborhood Chair 5 years, member of several citizen groups). While at Boeing I managed engineering organizations from 30 to 300 employees, (10 years Work-Training Unit at the U of W, 20 years of computer applications).

  As a product of the Shoreline School District, I am proud to contribute to the continued success of our first-class school system. As a school board member for two years, I have been involved in rectifying the district's financial situation and I now look forward to the challenges of implementing No Child Left Behind. I have the experience and a firm commitment to assure that our district provides high quality education in an efficient school system, and acts in the best interests of the students and community.

  Education/Occupation: Shorewood High School; University of Washington; University of Puget Sound School of Law, magna cum laude; Partner, Riach Gese Law Firm. Personal: Married 15 years, four children, all students in Shoreline District. Community Service: Richmond Little League Board, Vice President Fast Pitch; South County Senior Center, President of the Board; coach Hillwood Soccer and Richmond Little League.
