Candidates:

Virginia Haugen — Nonpartisan

Community activist and former Auburn City Council Member Virginia Haugen founded Neely Mansion Association, and served on the boards of numerous non-profit organizations. Her experience in business management, construction, and manufacturing served her well on Municipal Services Committee where she demanded a plan that still pays for fire equipment. Haugen initiated a Capital Improvements Schedule, requested a teen curfew, uncovered two illegal ordinances, and walked out on what would have been an illegal meeting. Never intimidated by large developers; she voted no on plans that allowed uncontrolled growth, and helped save a stand of evergreens in Lakeland Hills. Ms. Haugen opposes halfway houses for sexual predators and adult bookstores in Auburn, and will call for better budget management, more and better police, and sensible solutions to our traffic woes. Better government starts with Virginia Haugen!!!!
