I am a thirty-year Shoreline resident/homeowner
with two adult children who graduated from Shorewood. As past president of the
Shoreline Chamber of Commerce and major in the U.S. Army Reserve (inactive), I
have experience working with large organizations. As the president/founder of a
twenty-two year old retail service company with six local stores, I regularly
hire, train, and manage high school and junior college students and understand
the value of well-educated employees.
I believe basic education needs to be fully funded
from the state. I support WASL and believe the state needs to provide districts
with sufficient funding to handle anticipated remedial instruction and
curriculum changes necessitated by compliance with state and federal mandates.
We need to ensure that our schools are preparing our kids to compete on a
worldwide basis. I pledge to be an effective advocate for public education,
teachers, students, and families.
