If elected to the school board, I will provide
leadership and vision for the district in these important areas: comprehensive
strategic planning; prudent oversight and innovative policy making;
accountability; and, most importantly, championing public education in our
community.
Education is a community responsibility. Citizens
in the Lake Washington School District have demonstrated consistently that they
are committed to providing their kids the best education possible. My role is
to represent that commitment from the community, and to enable our educators to
deliver on that promise.
While bringing a fresh perspective to the board, I
look forward to working with board members, as well as with all district
personnel, to deliver a world-class education to our kids.
I have lived in Redmond since 1997, and work as a
Software Design Engineer in the Natural Language Group at Microsoft. After
graduating from The Thomas Jefferson High School for Science & Technology
in northern Virginia, I attended Cornell University and received a BS in Electrical
Engineering.
I have done volunteer work for the Fairfax County
Public School system and the Alliance for the Physically Disabled. I have also
taught computer literacy classes at the Redmond Library through the library
system's NetMaster program.
