When asked why she taught, a Renton educator replied, "I am a teacher because I am astonished by the human spirit and the force within each of us that, if we discover it, pushes us beyond where we ever thought we could go." As a Board member my vision would be to make this a reality.

It has been my privilege to serve you on the Northshore School Board since 1991. Ensuring that Northshore students are prepared to face a world of constant change and innovation has been my focus. The past twelve years have seen Northshore develop higher academic standards, new assessments and a greater accountability to meet state standards. Our challenge now is to continue this important work in the face of dwindling education dollars. We must not lose ground on the important gains we have made.

Thank you for supporting our schools.
