I am running for the position of Fire Commissioner because I care deeply for the community in which I have lived my entire life. Your firefighters have endorsed me as their candidate because they believe that I am the right person for the position.

As a member of the construction trades, I understand the need for a prompt, well trained and effective fire department, and as a husband, father and member of this community, I am committed to seeing these goals realized.

I am endorsed by your Burien/Normandy Park Firefighters Local 1461, the King County Labor Council, Senator Karen Keiser, State Representatives David Upthegrove, Eileen Cody, and Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 32. I am a dedicated union member, having twice served as a delegate to the Washington State Labor Council Convention. I am also a Precinct Committee Officer for the 33rd Legislative District.

I am a lifelong resident of South King County, an active architect for over 40 years, graduate of U. of W., emeritus member of American Institute of Architects, military service in Korea and Japan, past President of the Burien White Center Rotary, currently serving on the Highline Community Hospital Foundation Board and the Highline Historical Society Board.

Consistent with the high standards of the people of our community, it has been my goal as Fire Commissioner in 17 years of service to insure maximum protection of lives and property. We have a well managed Fire District and with effective use of our tax dollars we have one of the lowest rates for Fire Protection in the area and it is my intent to keep it that way. I deeply appreciate your consideration in allowing me to serve you and respectively request your vote.
