Dave, a 24 year Kenmore resident, has a strong record of community service. He led the successful effort to form the city of Kenmore, served as chair of the Kenmore Planning Commission, is a Northshore Rotary member and is currently commission chair for the fire district. Dave served 30 years with the King County Sheriff's office with 20 years of supervisory experience retiring with the rank of Captain.

As a fire commissioner for the past three years Dave is proud of the department's work to provide: local fire inspection services that eliminate King County inspection fees, consolidation of fire training services with the Bothell and Shoreline departments, establishment of a regional technical rescue program and a new consortium that sites a Medic One unit in Lake Forest Park. He has held the district tax burden below $1.50 per $1,000.00 of assessed value while improving services and maintaining critical financial reserves.

As a resident of Kenmore for seven years and having been involved in the Fire Service in King County for more than 20 years, I see areas where Fire District 16 can greatly improve service to the taxpayers. For example, fire department vehicles and personnel should be transporting our citizens to local hospitals when they are injured, not calling private ambulance companies that charge a massive fee for service. We pay property taxes and special fees to the Fire District with the expectation that we will be cared for in the event of an emergency. I have the knowledge and tenacity to get this, and other issues, resolved.

I hold degrees from the University of Washington and the University of Washington, School of Medicine in physiology and paramedicine. I am currently a practicing paramedic in northeast King County.
