When you the voters elected me as Fire Commissioner, response times were unacceptable to our downtown corridor, staffing levels weren't meeting service demand and many aging fire vehicles were in need of replacement.

Since then, our community has grown dramatically and as a result, our department has been and continues to face new service delivery challenges. Our revenue sources have been seriously impacted by many voter-approved initiatives.

Presently, a new headquarters fire station serves our downtown corridor, staffing levels are adequately matched for service demands and all major fire vehicles have been replaced according to schedule.

These accomplishments occurred during difficult economic times. They occurred without requiring special bonds or excess levies. Tax collection rates have been maintained at or below our State legislated level.

More challenges await us. I'm excited and honored to continue serving our community as a Fire Commissioner and I thank you for your support.
