I'm running for city council with a track record of building community. I serve on the board of my community association improving our neighborhood and on Bellevue's Planning Commission, making certain our neighborhoods have a voice in important decisions.

Quality of life begins with a job. That's why I serve on two boards working for economic development. And you need an education to get a job, which is why I serve on my high school's board of directors. As a Planning Commissioner, I helped streamline the process for construction and remodeling of Bellevue schools for our children.

And I will work to hold the line on property taxes in Bellevue.

I believe you build community through unity. I will work with Bellevue's neighborhoods to shape a common vision for our future.

I will promote a government open, accessible, and accountable to our citizens. I ask for your vote.

Al Yuen with a BS. MBA, brings years of business experience to this race. A resident and a family person in Bellevue for over 34 years, previous owner of Al's Crabapple Restaurant, he has seen the growth of our city and its neighborhoods. Yuen's decision to run stems from his present position as Bellevue Transportation Commissioner and his concerns on the need to continue monitoring growth with foresight to protect our city's quality environment and services.

As a City Council Member, he will work hard to relieve traffic congestion, seek alternative transportation, promote new business while maintaining the tranquility of our residential neighborhood, workable environments for large and small businesses, lobby for teacher's fair wages, job security and new tech teaching tools, city revenues are used wisely, protect our environment. Be a strong proactive planner, rather than a reactive solver. He looks forward in serving you on the Council.
