King County Local Voters Pamphlet

   I want to do what I can to assure that the level of emergency services to our community remains as high as reasonably possible. I've been attending the Fire Commissioner meetings for almost a year now and have watched as the administration and staff responsibly steer Fire District 45 into the future. They've done an outstanding job and I am anxious to join this team. The district now has excellent facilities, equipment, and personnel that we can all be proud of. But there remains more work to be done as the community grows and budgets get even tighter. After many years of success in my own small business I became a Volunteer Firefighter. Two years later, at almost 40 years old I made a career change and for the past six years have been a Professional Firefighter in Snohomish County. My background and experience make me the most qualified choice.

  As a homeowner in Duvall since 1987, I have been involved with the Fire Department, 1^st as a firefighter until 1994, then in support of the firefighters association helping with the Pancake breakfast, the annual department BBQ and other activities.

  I am a third generation professional firefighter, have worked closely with the firefighters union and have watched this fire district grow from an all volunteer department to the combination professional part-paid fire department it is today. This department is a leader in the fire service of King County. My vision is to continue that leadership role into the future through a strong administration, cooperation with the firefighters union and firefighters association and input from citizens of King County Fire District #45.
