Our water district will experience serious future challenges concerning water supply and quality. As a water commissioner, it is important to understand the origins of our water resources, the value of water, and the necessary steps for protecting water.

I am an active American Water Works Association member, which provides valuable information about water resource management. Additionally, I participate in Water District #20 meetings, and have done so for the past four years.

As your water commissioner, I will strive to provide easy access to commissioners, protect our water quality, ensure reasonable water rates, and make informed water district decisions.

I have lived in the district for 41 years. I have worked 26 years as a Boilermaker and 12 years at Boeing. I am currently active in the Boeing and Boilermaker retirement clubs and the Highline Senior Center. Additionally, I am presently on the North Highline Unincorporated Area Council.

It has been my honor to serve as your Water Commissioner for the past 12 years. I am proud of our accomplishments during my term of office: 60 year Contract with Seattle for guaranteed water supplies; 68,670 feet (13 miles) of new pipe & 218 new fire hydrants ensuring better water quality and fire protection; lower fire insurance rates in NHFD; continued rate reduction for low income elderly and disabled; no franchise fees from the city of Burien for the next 7 years; upgraded reservoir; NO RATE INCREASE SINCE 1994.

This year, the rate payers of WD 85 voted to merge with WD 20. This decision reduced rates by 30% for WD 85 customers and garnered your District a substantial increase in "Old Water," i.e. cheaper water from Seattle.

No other WD 20 candidate has the knowledge and experience I bring to this office. Thanks for your continued support.
