Masters Degree, Business Administration, Finance. Veteran U.S. Army Counterintelligence. Management Boeing, Superior Courts, Special Olympics, private business. Longtime area homeowner.

Community service: Scoutmaster, Chairperson Heart Association fundraising, Lions, Chamber of Commerce, Special Olympics, PTSA Golden Acorn, CASE Board, Highline Water Commissioner.

Signed the original Seattle Water Contract, which guaranteed our permanent water supply. Rebuilt the water district. Provided incentives for employees. Added three water districts. Expanded interties. Added two low cost water wells. Founding member and Chairperson of the Regional Water Association and the Groundwater Advisory Committees.

Seattle Water is reliable but expensive. Summer/winter rates and 10 years of conservation is at best a slow walk down a dead end street. Demands are increasing on the regions limited surface water supplies. We should look at alternate sources and regional alliances. More wells are an excellent second source of low cost high grade water. At present these waters are wasted.

In my 5 years as your water commissioner, my priority has been to ensure that our community will always have an adequate and fairly priced water supply. I'm pleased to say we've made real progress toward that goal: We reached a deal with Seattle Water on a 50 year contract with very good price incentives for Highline Water. We completed plans for a new well that will provide an additional million gallons per day and further limit our dependence on outside sources. We built a 7 million gallon reservoir. And through my participation in the Washington Association of Sewer and Water Districts, we helped prevent the County from adding a utility tax to your bill and to defeat the Governor's proposal to impose a second conservation charge on each district ratepayer.

With your vote, I look forward to meeting the challenges facing the future of our regional water system.
