King County Local Voters Pamphlet

  I'm Robert Kemmer. I'm running for your council to promote responsible growth, particularly in our business community so as to create more tax dollars for our city. I've lived here the past three years after growing up in Maple Valley. My family has run a business in Black Diamond for over 25 years. I have 13 years experience in retail management. I now work at a business in Kent. I want to create employment, retail and service opportunities close to home. I want to encourage small business growth so that my shopping dollars are spent in my community.

  I want to create a viable downtown commercial zone while preserving our rural lifestyle elsewhere. I'm concerned about our rural environment and with the quality of life and resources for all of Black Diamond. I'll work for safe streets, more crosswalks and I'll be accountable to all citizens. Please vote for me.

  For the past two years it has been my privilege to serve as a member of the Black Diamond City Council. As a member of the Council I am committed to help maintain the quality of life our citizens enjoy. I believe policies that protect our natural environment and preserve the rural character of our community should be very high priorities of the Council. Growth is coming to our community. As a member of the Council's Finance Committee I will work to make sure this growth pays its own way. It is very important that our citizens participate actively in their local government. I will do all that I can, if elected, to continue to listen to our citizens and will work to see that Black Diamond remains a place where families want to live.
