King County Local Voters Pamphlet

I bought my house in Carnation 18 years ago. It was a small town with good police protection and I knew it would be a nice place to raise my family.

  The current council wants to purchase a sewer system that could cost the average family $86.00 or more per month. Also, we now have only 80 hours of patrolling police protection a week. This is less than half of the hours in a week. I believe these actions are not in the best interest of the families in Carnation.

  I believe that not enough has been done to keep families informed or participate by vote in projects that have a large financial impact.

  If elected, I will try and keep the welfare of families firmly in mind and do my best to see that all the citizens have a vote in the major projects that affect everyone in Carnation.

  Carnation's greatest asset is its hometown values. I am dedicated to preserve the comfort, safety and prosperity of its people through carefully managed growth and a united community by including citizen participation. Working together we can maintain our small town uniqueness and still provide for Carnation's economic viability.

  As a city business owner and City Council Member I am fiscally conservative while keeping the values of the city first in mind.

  I am actively involved in our community as past president of the Chamber of Commerce, past member of the Planning Board, past Chair of the Fourth of July, and originator of the town Christmas ornaments and Town Picture.

  I am loyal to our community and think I have the experience both socially and fiscally to serve its people. I will continue working to improve our quality of life, keep our town safe, prosperous and comfortable to live in.
