Vote the Person, not the Party.

Experienced – Barbara Heavey is a former Kent City prosecutor, County project manager and 43-year resident of South King County. She is not a career-politician.

Independent – Barbara Heavey is the only candidate not bankrolled by developers and pro-growth special interests. She has always fought to protect South King County from sprawl and the traffic it brings to our region.

Accountable – Barbara Heavey believes government should live within its means without raising taxes. She supports smaller County government that is more responsive to Unincorporated and South King County residents.

Committed – Barbara Heavey has lived, worked, raised a family and volunteered in South King County for over four decades. She will work hard to make sex predators, drug dealers and reckless drivers accountable for their actions and to keep our neighborhoods safe.

Moderate – “Barbara Heavey is the best candidate to bring County and City officials together to meet regional challenges through moderate leadership.” – Kent City Councilmember Tim Clark

I was honored when the King County Council followed through on the wishes of the late Kent Pullen and appointed me to his seat on the Council. Kent was a champion of our region, and I plan to follow in his tradition.

I have spent the past months talking with people throughout the district. Taxes and congestion are clearly the most important issues.

I believe the County government should not fix the current budget crisis on the backs of taxpayers. We need to improve the efficiency of government. I will work hard to ensure that the limited transportation funds that are available are spent on projects that will relieve congestion in South King County.

I was pleased to be the only candidate who was endorsed by the King County Republican Party. They know that I will be a council member who will work for the interests of the people who live in the district.

As oppose to others, I did not need to change my residency to run in this election. It will be a privilege to continue to serve my neighbors of 25 years on the Council.

I ask for your vote on November 4th.
