I'm running for city council with a track record of building community. I serve on the board of my community association improving our neighborhood and on Bellevue's Planning Commission, making certain our neighborhoods have a voice in important decisions.

Quality of life begins with a job. That's why I serve on two boards working for economic development. And you need an education to get a job, which is why I serve on my high school's board of directors. As a Planning Commissioner, I helped streamline the process for construction and remodeling of Bellevue schools for our children.

And I will work to hold the line on property taxes in Bellevue.

I believe you build community through unity. I will work with Bellevue's neighborhoods to shape a common vision for our future.

I will promote a government open, accessible, and accountable to our citizens. I ask for your vote.

Al Yuen with a BS. MBA, brings years of business experience to this race. A resident and a family person in Bellevue for over 34 years, previous owner of Al's Crabapple Restaurant, he has seen the growth of our city and its neighborhoods. Yuen's decision to run stems from his present position as Bellevue Transportation Commissioner and his concerns on the need to continue monitoring growth with foresight to protect our city's quality environment and services.

As a City Council Member, he will work hard to relieve traffic congestion, seek alternative transportation, promote new business while maintaining the tranquility of our residential neighborhood, workable environments for large and small businesses, lobby for teacher's fair wages, job security and new tech teaching tools, city revenues are used wisely, protect our environment. Be a strong proactive planner, rather than a reactive solver. He looks forward in serving you on the Council

James Haskin – Nonpartisan

When I moved to Washington in 1975, there was a plan to build 5 nuclear power plants. The agency was called the Washington Public Power Supply System, or WPPSS. The projected cost was $4.1 billion; the final cost was $23.8 billion. In 1983 WPPSS defaulted on $2.25 billion in bonds, the largest default in history. They completed one plant. The light rail plan offered by Sound Transit looks like WPPSS reborn. Their projected cost is $2.4 billion, but this is only the beginning. Sound Transit has a substantial advertising budget to convince you it's a good deal. My business career spans five decades as a corporate manager and small businessman. Historical mistakes should not be duplicated; good managers prevent this from happening. In May, your support elected me freeholder with 64% of the vote. I am the President of the Wilburton Community Assoc. and a member of Crossroads Bible Church.

Renay Bennett – Nonpartisan

Photo of Renay Bennett – NonpartisanRenay Bennett is an independent voice for our neighborhoods. She will not accept campaign contributions from special interests seeking city contracts or rezones.

Renay Bennett stands for:

  • Strong support of neighborhoods.
  • Conservative fiscal spending.
  • Improved economic viability.

Do you question diverting money from needed neighborhood improvements to pay for these projects?

  • A new city hall costing $102,000,000?
  • Expanding the Convention Center at a cost of $40,000,000?

Our neighbors and businesses can't afford higher taxes. Bellevue deserves a stable and secure community.

Renay Bennett has over 10 years of successful leadership experience, including serving the 108th Association, Surrey Downs Association, Co-Chair Neighborhood Network, PTA, Spokesperson for Bellevue Charter, Downtown Implementation Plan Committee, and Access Downtown Committee. Renay helped prevent the widening of Bellevue Way and 112th .

Renay Bennett will respect and listen to all residents to benefit the future living and working environment for everyone in Bellevue.
