I am proud to have been your representative for the last eight years. Four generations of my family call Kent home, I know the values that have created this city and I still share those values today.

I have sponsored skate parks, thousands of free bike helmets for our children, and a soon to open BMX bike track. As chair of Public Safety I have been a strong advocate for Police and Fire.

I have supported performance measures for city government to ensure accountability and efficiencies within city departments. I have voted to hold our portion of your property tax to 1%, lowering our tax levies yearly. When the council was given a salary increase, I donated mine to the Fire department.

Your Firefighters and Police officers have endorsed my campaign.

I am asking for your VOTE, to continue to listen and represent you and your neighbors.

When elected to the Kent City Council, I will represent all the citizens of Kent, not a select few.

I will focus my efforts on the basic needs of the City, e.g. Police, Fire, Utility Services, and Transportation.

As your representative, I will ask the hard questions of City Staff prior to making any decisions, which impact you and others. You have the right to know in understandable terms what you are getting for your tax dollars and the impact of City proposals.

I will work to reduce the bloated size of the managerial staff in the City.

I will ensure that you are allowed to testify on issues and I will insist that your testimony is full and complete, not censored and abbreviated.

You will be pleasantly surprised when you elect me, Ted Kogita, your Kent City Councilman for the next four years.

City Council must be responsive to the needs of its citizens. As a Kent resident for 28 years, a member of a Kent family business for 38 years, a mother, a 15-year Kent Police department employee and wife of a retired Fireman I know the issues citizens need addressed.

I promise to ensure that your safety is number one. I will listen to what your needs are for the city, and work to implement safe and sound policies that will benefit your happiness, playtime, safety and pocketbook.

I believe our city's growth and public spending must be balanced and realistic. My observations during the last fifteen years with the city provide me with insight regarding city spending and the inflated size of management. I will address this issue.

Kent is a great city, however our local traffic congestion is a growing issue.
