Sept 16, 2003 Primary Elections

City of Woodinville
COUNCIL POS. NO. 04, 4 YR TERM /Exp.:07

Candidates:

Antonio Pruett-Saratan II – Nonpartisan

Before I decided to run for City Council I was an Intern for the City of Woodinville for a term of 9 months. I am almost finished with Seattle University's Masters in Public Administration Program. I am a concerned member of the community and a scholar at heart who wants to contribute back to his Community. Community to me is more than the area that I live in, it is the care, safety and personality of the residents. When it boils right down to why you should vote for me it is because I do have the skills, background and most of all the heart to serve you well. My youthful outlook of "making a difference" and to "do the right thing," however hard to discern, will lead me in conjunction with the voice of the community in all decisions. Let me be your voice on the City Council.

As your councilmember for the last eight years, I have worked aggressively to improve the quality of Woodinville's lifestyle. As Woodinville's Mayor, I have provided the leadership necessary to make your interests reality.

I was instrumental in the conception and development of Wilmot Park and continue to be a driving force for parks, most recently our new Skate/BMX park. I initiated construction of several new pedestrian/bike pathways. Our fire and police response times are dramatically improved and our community policing is proving effective. We are attacking our traffic issues by improving roads, signals and intersections and have plans to do much more. Our growing recreation program and downtown businesses provide safe and constructive activities for our youth and families. Through visionary fiscal planning, we continue to maintain service levels for our citizens.

Most importantly, I will insist we not raise property taxes. "Together, we are making a difference!"
