My wife Patti, daughter Lisa, and I have enjoyed living in Bothell for 16 years. I have coached youth soccer for 14 years, participated as a member of the Northshore PTA, served as a disaster relief worker for FEMA and have regularly participated in City Council and Planning Commission meetings. Because of my extensive community involvement, the Council has asked me to serve on various committees to represent citizens' viewpoint.

I disagree with many recent proposals by the Council. These include directing traffic through neighborhoods, increasing residential densities, and lowering development and environmental standards. Despite extensive opposition by the community, these proposals continue!

The Council is failing to properly deal with these complex issues. It is time for a change. My years of experience and engagement with our community clearly make me the better choice over my opponents.

Education: B.A. Communications, University of Washington.

Profession: Corporate and Employee Pension Consultant.

My wife Kim and I decided to raise our family in Bothell because of the great neighborhoods, schools and parks. My father-in-law started his business (Bothell Service Center) 33 years ago because of the opportunity he saw here. As your city councilman my highest priority will be to ensure Bothell will always be a great place for both families and businesses.

I earned my degree in public policy from Duke University and have been a leading advocate for public safety in our community. I am proud to have the endorsement of Sheriff Dave Reichert and will always protect public safety by supporting our police and firefighters. I will preserve open space and oppose radical zoning changes that threaten the character of our neighborhoods. I will work to implement sensible traffic solutions while protecting the park at Bothell Landing from SR-522.

ENDORSED BY KING COUNTY SHERIFF DAVE REICHERT

Personal:Lifetime Eastside Resident . Eagle Scout and Scout Leader . U.S. Patent Holder . Business owner/Current U.S. military contracts.

. As a lifetime Eastside resident I am committed to preserving the unmatched lifestyle that prevails because of the natural beauty of our area and the wonderful people who have chosen Bothell in which to live and raise our families. It is important for individuals to be involved for the betterment of our neighborhoods.

. Issues that I will highlight as a city council member are: Public safety including keeping major traffic on arterials and out of residential neighborhoods; assuring funding for pools and parks; and the revitalization of downtown Bothell and the area near the UW/Cascadia campus. The process of city government needs to be made more efficient especially considering current budgetary restraints. Bothell residents should be able to get answers to their inquiries in days, not months or years.
