Soos Creek Water & Sewer
COMMISSIONER POS. NO. 05, 6 YR TERM /Exp.:09
Candidates:
Phil Sullivan – Nonpartisan |
I'm
seeking re-election as your commissioner at Soos Creek Water & Sewer
District. With thirty-four years experience in wastewater treatment &
reclamation, plus 7 years as your current district commissioner, I'll continue
to support equitable rates for water & sewer services. We're a growing
district requiring focus to ratepayer & business needs. We have: completed
a 9-year contractual effort to ensure Soos Creek customers with continuous
water supply for the next 60-years, initiated programs for personnel and
facilities protection, participated with adjacent districts on matters of
mutual concern, not increased rates as a result of Soos Creek board action for two
years. I'll continue working with the excellent district employees to provide
premium design, operations, maintenance, and administrative functions.
My wife
Connie (taught at Soos Creek Elementary
School) and I have
lived in the District for 34-years. We have three grown sons: Sean, Tim, Chris.

As
a second generation Washingtonian with over 13 years experience working in the
Wastewater Field, I believe I have the experience to properly represent my
district as commissioner for several reasons.
First,
I am not a politician, but my experience in this area has shown me that
politicians are the wrong people to be in this position. I have seen many
examples of poor management and mistakes caused by poor planning and oversight,
and I can prevent this happening in the Soos Creek District.
Secondly,
I believe every effort should be made to maintain the highest quality standards
for both the water and sewer districts while focusing on how we can reduce the
costs of maintaining these standards. Our bills are high enough as it is. There
is no reason to make it more costly through poor oversight or mismanagement. I
will work hard for my family and yours.
