Dan Sherman has served the community of Des Moines with distinction for many years, including two prior terms on City Council. He was recently returned to community service by appointment to a seat on City Council which was vacated during a campaign scandal investigation. His unanimous appointment is a strong statement about his ability to lead and inspire confidence based on honesty and integrity.

Dan will help to restore good government and respect for fair process in Des Moines. We must stop the erosion of trust in government in order to move forward with confidence to the important and critical tasks that face our city. Tops on that list include preservation of our environment and quality of life, provision of essential services, and improvement of infrastructure such as the marina and roads.

Your vote for Dan Sherman is a vote for good government

Jeanette Burrage – Nonpartisan

Jeanette Burrage served on the Des Moines City Council in 1994-1995. She believes our city needs lower taxes, less bureaucracy, and an end to personal rancor. She realizes the fight against the third runway needs to be prioritized with other city expenses; that we cannot continue to pour millions of dollars into this problem at the expense of essential services.

By returning Burrage to the council you will add her experience, wit, and compassion to work for you.

Burrage has been an accountant, real estate appraiser, attorney, judge and teacher in the Highline District. She holds B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Washington. She volunteers her time in the community at Hospitality House; the Boy Scouts, including their support of the Des Moines Food Bank; and has been Finance Chairperson for Southminster Presbyterian Church.

Big Dave Clemmons

It doesn't take a genius to know we need new people on our City Council.

I've lived in and around Des Moines most of my life. I've been volunteering at Waterland for 13 years and in 1997, was Waterland's Commodore of the year.

I was manager of the Des Moines Brown Bear Car Wash for 6 years.

I presently work full time during the day, delivering merchandise to businesses in and around Seattle. I also work in the evenings at the Des Moines Cinema, where many of you have seen me.

When you elect me to your City Council, I'll work just as hard to improve Des Moines. If you want a change in the way your city functions, I will need your vote on September 16. Without your vote for me, you can expect the same poor government you've seen for years.
