King County Local Voters Pamphlet

I love Des Moines, and I will have a positive impact on our city serving as your council member. We all want a city council that will be more pro-active and responsive to the approximate 30,000 people who live and work here, and after residing here over twenty years I feel a sense of duty to give back to my community.

Times are changing and it's time for appropriate changes within our local government. I once believed 3^rd runway opposition was worthwhile. It is now time to STOP wasting money on a dying cause. I will stand for what I believe is best and will listen to the concerns of our citizens with an open mind.

I have a B.S. in Business with high honors and have owned my own company for 15 years. I am motivated simply by a desire to serve. I would appreciate your vote on September 16^th.

Bob Sheckler's primary objective is protecting those he has been elected to serve. He remains committed to preventing the Third Runway's encroachment on our homes and schools, preserving our creeks and streams, and stopping any conveyor system through Des Moines Beach Park.

Bob's vision of the redevelopment of Highway 99 between South 216^th and Kent-Des Moines Road will create a showpiece entrance to Des Moines, generate City revenues, and provide a safer environment.

Bob is dedicated to improving the quality of life in Des Moines. As a goal-oriented professional and effective communicator, Bob is a decisive and proven advocate for property owners, senior citizens, parks and recreation, community policing, and economic development of our business core. Bob will ensure that Des Moines remains a strong and viable residential community that will not be compromised.

No one has given more of themselves for their community than myself. I am a survivor. As the 2003 President of the Des Moines Chamber of Commerce I worked hard to help bring support to our Business Community for the purpose of making Des Moines a better place to live for my fellow Citizens. No hidden agendas. Just hard work and a desire to give back to my Community. I have weathered many storms and falsities in our Community and despite the efforts of those who would rather attack the messenger than address our Community's serious problems I will continue to work hard to bring Truth and Accountability to our City Government.
