    Terry Hoffner, wife Tracy and children, Kristin, Zachary and Dylan have lived in Algona for 11 years. Terry is presently active in his church and is a member of the Board of Trustees. He has an extensive background in the construction business and hopes to use some of that knowledge on the City Council. Raising 3 children gives him a little insight on the issues that are of concern to our youth today.

    Although this is his first run for a public elected office, he feels he can add a fresh new approach to some of the issues that are "on the table."

    It is very important to remember that one of our top priorities is the youth of our community. Terry will be committed to making the best possible choice in regards to our youth, our senior citizens and keeping our community a better place to live.

    I have lived in Algona for over nine years and am a South King County native. My priorities include maintaining our viability as an independent city, insuring the safety of our homes and streets, and increasing citizen participation in the life of our city.

    With increasing budget constraints, it will be more and more of a challenge to maintain city services. In light of this, it is desirable to encourage citizens to take a more active role in volunteerism. One of my other goals is to increase contact between residents and myself as your elected official.

    My qualifications include: Vice President, Associated Students of the University of Washington -- Tacoma and Chapter President of Phi Alpha Theta; Board Member and Journal Editor, Pacific Northwest Historians Guild; Vestry Member of my church; Computer Docent at the Kent Regional Library.
