Kevin

JAMES

Kevin James stands for:  KEEPING HIS WORD.  Kevin kept each of his 14 campaign promises from 1993, including his pledge to voluntarily leave the council in 1997.  QUALITY, CONTROLLED GROWTH.  Kevin was instrumental in the development of the original Burien Plan, which set a blueprint for growth focused in a vibrant downtown, required adequate infrastructure, and protected the character of our neighborhoods.  BALANCED PROPERTY RIGHTS.  Kevin authored the compromise giving each Burien property owner notification and time to adapt to changes in land use called for in the plan, thus balancing owner's rights with community vision.

"I had the pleasure of serving you from 1994-1997.  During that time, I was effective in crafting moderate, workable solutions to a wide range of issues, from senior citizen program funding to growth to public safety to even bird feeding.  I hope the low key, effective experience I represent earns your vote this election."
