Gordon

SHAW

I'm a 52 year resident who grew up next door to Highline High and married my high school sweetheart, whose family owned the first drug store in Burien (with a soda fountain and spin stools).  Our three children also graduated from Highline.

I knew this community when it was the Prosperous, friendly, can-do community in the region.  I want to see that again.  We should encourage home ownership, protect property rights, and balance growth.  We should encourage commercial and office type businesses, along with high quality retail to foster local high wage jobs.  This ensures that we will have sufficient revenue to provide for amenities like parks, without raising taxes.

BA Business, UW.  Twenty-eight years in private business, nine as president of my own company.  I know what it takes to sign the front side of a paycheck.

Member:  Burien Planning Commission, past president, Burien Library Guild.
