Clyde Hill assesses almost the lowest tax rate in King County and still maintains efficient service and adequate reserves for future needs, all without debt financing.     Our police department is respected throughout the East Side and, with next door fire protection facilities, assures a high level of security in our neighborhoods.     Our public works responsibilities are carried out in accordance with long range planning, including resurfacing of all streets on a twenty year cycle.  Few municipalities can approach that record.     A small administrative staff provides quality service to our citizens, and total costs, including insurance, legal, equipment and staff, are less than 18% of our budget.     As a 35-year Clyde Hill resident and 10-year council budget specialist, I'm privileged to serve on a council so responsive to citizen needs, and to help assure that these characteristics will continue without foreseeable need for change in our minimal tax policy.
