CITY OF COVINGTON COUNCIL POS. NO. 04
:

Julie

HOLBROOK

As a 30-year resident of Covington, I understand both the foundations and challenges our community will face in the new millennium.  I offer 15 years experience in organizational development, pioneering computer technology, project administration and budget management.  My current Management Systems Analyst position with the City of Seattle illustrates my familiarity with government agencies.  I am also a degreed professional with expertise in marine chemistry and environmental protection.

Her council term will achieve innovative progress in growth management planning, strong citizenship goals, and increasing community resources.  Growth management strategies include assessment of long-term impacts of growth on existing infrastructure (roads, water supply, schools) and zoning decisions that deal with competing land use agendas in a manner that supports rural community qualities.  Key projects will focus on increasing 18-year old voter registration and all age's citizenship opportunities as well as developing a multi-use community center that reflects the diversity of Covington.

Don

HENNING

The incoming council's focus will be on a comprehensive plan for the next 20 years.  Don can and will work with the other councilpersons and the citizens of our community to finalize this plan.

Don has committed his energies to the development and implementation of a comprehensive plan for our new city.  Factors such as parks, trails, traffic management, the needs of the businessperson and environmental protection must be weighed to meet the desires of the community.

There is an initiative on the ballot that potentially eliminates a major funding source for the city.  Should that happen, the importance of having a person with financial management experience is a must.  Don is that person.

Don is a 35-year employee with Boeing where he is a manufacturing manager.  He has lived in the Covington area for 19 years with his wife Mary.
