CAIRNS

    Bryan Cairns brings to the Mercer Island Council integrity and a strong belief that city government has an essential role in providing needed services (safety, human, environmental) at acceptable cost.

    A community leader he was elected to the City Council in 1997, and has served as Chairman of the Library Board and on numerous city and citizen committees and boards.

    As a council member Bryan will continue to give careful consideration to all issues contributing to the quality of life on Mercer Island including transportation/parking, public spaces, housing, and capital needs.  He will continue to work with residents and city staff to address issues in an open, candid and well informed manner to reach preferred conclusions.

    A graduate of Queens University, Northern Ireland (Physics) and Stanford University (Business) he managed the Physics organization within the Boeing Co. prior to retirement this year.
