Top priorities are: increasing academic opportunities for all
students; a system focused on results and accountability; ensuring schools are
safe; tax dollars wisely spent; and good communication with parents, community
and staff.
Linda's volunteer commitment over 25 years
is broad-based and extensive. She has
been President and Legislative Representative of the Kent Board, served in
leadership of county and state school directors' associations, is a member of
KCTS/Ch9 advisory board and is active in arts and business professional
organizations.
Working with Kent's new superintendent and
implementing results of the recent Curriculum Management Audit are two reasons
her seasoned leadership will be valuable.
Petersen is a small business owner who
previously worked with the Kent Chamber of Commerce, Washington State
Legislature and King County Government.
Linda and husband Clark have lived 30 years in the Fairwood area. Their two children are Kent graduates.
