Thomas F.

deLAAT

Tom is committed to long range planning and development of water supply systems which are necessary to meet the needs of all of the citizens of the Puget Sound Region.  Since the mid-1980's, he has recognized the limitations of the systems in place and is awe struck with the prevalent attitude of many, that we only need plan ahead for ten or twenty years.  Even though our region is blessed with an abundance of water, it is unfortunate that it falls from the sky in winter when we need it the least.  Without the development of region wide facilities for storage and delivery, and or reuse, Tom is convinced that the lack of adequate useable fresh water will stifle the quality of life we have been accustomed to.  Tom's goal is to participate in the planning necessary to achieve long term supply for future generations.

Jeff

CLARK

Hello, My name is Jeff Clark, I am running for water commissioner because like you I am tired of my water rates consistently increasing while our water quality and services decrease.  This is happening because of poor planning.  The district built an administration building instead of new water storage facilities.  They pass new development costs onto present rate payers instead of having builders pay their fair share, and they failed to plan for waterline replacements forcing individual homeowners to pick up the tab.  This could cost individuals up to $10,000.  There are professionals that have been on the commission for a number of years and they still have not addressed any of these issues, or acquired any new water supplies, and yet our rates keep escalating.  If elected I will work to correct these issues.  Please vote Jeff Clark for responsible planning.
