    Age: 75; • Married, one grown son; • Retired, was employed as a Mechanical Engineer after employment with various shipbuilding firms in the Seattle-Tacoma area; • Appointed to the board in 1999.

    I want to continue my participation in the deliberations pending and coming before the Board which will effect the water and sewage rates due to the changes mandated by the Growth Management Act (GMA), Endangered Species Act (ESA) and population growth that is occurring within the boundaries of the Lakehaven Utility District.

    My engineering knowledge and past experience in evaluating proposed major expenditures for additional electro-mechanical installations will assist in assuring meeting the required improvements and expansions of the existing installations while keeping water and sewer rates reasonable and expenses caused by growth are fairly shared by the additional rate payers.

BOVELA

    As your representative in Lakehaven Utility District, I promise to work hard to maintain high quality standards of safe drinking water. I support keeping a constant vigil with water testing and preventative maintenance.

    Growing up in Ohio my family had to rely on well water, knowing we had to boil the water after a flood for safe use. Also, 20 years living in California taught me that just throwing chlorine into the public water supply was inadequate to produce good quality water.

    If you elect me as Commissioner to the Lakehaven Utility District, I'LL WORK HARD FOR YOU, TO MAINTAIN HIGH QUALITY DRINKING WATER. My years in private industry have prepared me for this position. I will watch spending and keep costs low.
