Democrat
I am a candidate for re-election to the
Metropolitan King County Council and have served for six years as your District
Ten Representative. I have worked
successfully with many of you on a variety of issues that have helped improve
the quality of life for people living in our neighborhoods.
As chair of the County Council's Law,
Justice and Human Services Committee, it has become crystal clear to me that we
need to spend more of our general revenue funds to support crime prevention and
intervention programs. I truly believe
that public safety and security will be enhanced by spending more of our tax
dollars on making the community healthier.
We can do this by increasing our support to early childhood, after school,
drug and alcohol treatment, and employment assistance programs.
I hope to continue to be the conscience of
the County Council on a variety of public policy issues. I'd like to continue as an advocate for the
poor and working class communities of Seattle and King County.
Our work has just begun and I believe I have
been very effective as your elected representative. Please support me for a third term.
