CITY OF BELLEVUE COUNCIL POS. NO. 07
:

Tom

MENCAVAGE

Tom Mencavage's MBA and small hi-tech business ownership give him an insight into how to deal with the problems Bellevue will be facing in the year 2000 and beyond.  The input from a family ranging in ages from 4 to 68 give added impetus to solving our present and future problems.  Working in Bellevue highlights existing problems and allows him access to people's views on daily problems.  Tom's priorities will be:  to control the ever increasing traffic in Bellevue through existing programs and resources.  Introducing proposals to control rents and taxes that seriously jeopardize young families and retirees' ability to own housing and live in Bellevue.  Finally, that the existing and future rail and transit systems make sense with our plans for future growth in Bellevue.

ROSS

Phil

NOBLE

Phil Noble is committed to maintaining Bellevue's quality of life, especially as Bellevue grows into a more complex urban community.  In past years Phil has worked on important issues by serving two terms on Bellevue's School Board, eight years on Bellevue's Transportation Commission, and chairing Bellevue's Traffic Task Force.  He wants to bring his leadership experience and commitment to the City Council.

Phil's priorities include finding solutions to Bellevue's traffic congestion.  This means maintaining roads, providing transportation options, and developing workable roadway systems.  It's time to stop talking about problems and put plans into action.

Phil's other priorities include preserving neighborhood livability, increasing affordable housing, and encouraging economic viability to provide low taxes plus work and shopping opportunities.  He wants city government to work with neighborhoods, business, schools, human service agencies, and community organizations to find creative solutions to problems.  Phil will ensure Bellevue's interests in growth management, water, and transportation issues are fully represented at the state and regional level.

Phil and his wife, Shelley, have lived in Bellevue for over 25 years.  Phil will put his commitment and experience to work for Bellevue's citizens.
