List of Candidates for
CITY OF FEDERAL WAY COUNCIL POS. NO. 05
:

Mike

HELLICKSON

As a council member, Mike Hellickson's top priorities will be lower taxes, public safety and relieving traffic congestion.

Mike opposes increased taxes and adding to the city's $40 million debt, unless approved by a vote of the people.

While crime rates are trending lower, Mike believes better police protection is the city's top budget priority.  Until we feel safe in our homes and on our streets, there is more to be done.

Quality of life is very important.  For instance, the city has failed to plan a sufficient transportation system to handle the growth it has permitted.

A small businessman, Mike is a lifelong resident of the area.  He is active in his church and is a Boy Scout leader.  He and his wife, Tara, are homeowners in the Campus Highlands neighborhood, and plan to raise their family in Federal Way.
