DREW

OUR CITY IS AT A CROSSROADS.  Growth and traffic congestion are choking the quality of life we hold dear.  • During the next four years, current developments will double the size of our city.  • New development must pay for its own infrastructure.  • Average citizens and small business owners need a greater voice in city government.

My family moved to Issaquah 13 years ago.  I have served as a Board member and volunteer for FISH, Issaquah Alps Trails Club, Council for Historic Downtown and the Kiwanis Club of Issaquah.  I also served as neighborhood representative to my son's elementary school site council.  My work as a community volunteer, small business owner in Issaquah and activist on land use issues has prepared me to serve as an effective city councilor.  I pledge to be accessible, listen to your concerns and to increase the average citizen's influence in city decisions.

Jack H.

MERRITT

I am a native Washingtonian and have lived in the Issaquah area since 1950.  I served on the Board of Commissioners for Fire District 10 for six years and the Board of Commissioners for the Sammamish Plateau Water and Sewer District for seven years.  I feel that with Issaquah's rapid growth there are many areas that need to be addressed -- in particular roads, water, police and fire services.  These are the everyday concerns that help maintain Issaquah's quality of life.  The Council needs to preserve its awareness of these critical services in any plans for future growth.
