Clark

LEHIGH

Clark's priorities will be to listen to the citizens of Maple Valley.  As a board member of the Maple Valley Citizens Group, we were able to work with City Council Members and Planning Commissioners to consider an appropriate re-zone of the 50 acres of forest across from Rock Creek Elementary School, prior zoning was industrial now proposed mixed-use.

Growth Management:  Clark will strive to keep any increases in population modest and only after Maple Valley's infrastructure is improved.  Traffic congestion must be addressed prior to any future development.

As a former Planning Commissioner of Maple Valley, Clark has proven he listens to the people.  He voted no on the third commercial node.

Clark believes a rural setting is possible for Maple Valley, and necessary to maintain our current quality of life for our families.

LEWIS

The concerns I have about our city are taxes, growth and traffic.

I think taxes need to remain at or below their present level.  We do need to pay taxes for police, fire, education and other essential services, but we pay enough already.  I support the $30.00 license fee initiative.

I'm all for growth if it's done wisely.  I think we need to allow landowners to make money on their investments, but we can limit development to businesses and single family homes.  To help traffic I think we should stop the future development of apartments and other high-density housing.  Also, I'd like to push the county and state to get Route 169 and its intersections from Witte Road to Jones Road to be four lanes with turn signals.

    Thanks for your consideration.
