    I'm Steve Nelson. I have lived in Pacific for 40 years. I graduated from Auburn High School and from Green River College with a vocational degree in diesel engines.

    I have been a mechanic with CTI Trucking for 8 years.

    Safety of the residents of Pacific is my number 1 priority. I will not support prisons or detention centers.

    I would support a provision to make citizens aware of proposals brought before the council that could have a severe impact on the city.

    I would support a program to improve the streets as well as set up a regular maintenance program to keep them in good repair.

    I will listen to the Citizens and work to make Pacific a safe and friendly community we can all be proud of.

As resident of Pacific for the past ten years, I have come to enjoy a quality of life that is second to none. I believe our main challenge for the future is to maintain the balance of small city charm and growth, while providing and improving the services to our community.

I am a strong believer in government for the people and by the people. Education is the key to public participation. Issues should be discussed openly with the public included from the beginning. The industries and businesses that want to locate in our city must be held accountable to invest in our community, while providing family wage jobs. We must partner and work with bordering cities and counties to maximize all of our available resources. I am committed to work for these values. I bring to the job honesty, integrity and no nonsense common sense.
