May 20 special election ballots in the mail
All voters to receive an absentee ballot for this election only

More than 60,000 absentee ballots were mailed today to allvoters living in the Renton School District and Fire Protections Districts 17 and 45.  While King County will not transition to countywide voting by mail until next year, at the request of the jurisdictions, the May election will be conducted entirely by mail. All registered voters living within the three jurisdictions will automatically receive a ballot in the mail. Polling places will not be open.

Eligible voters who do not receive their ballot by Friday, May 9 should contact King County Elections at 206-296-VOTE (8683) or http://www.kingcounty.gov/vote.aspx

In-person accessible voting

People who need assistance can still vote in-person on an accessible voting between April 30 and May 19 at King County Elections' Renton office weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The office will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, May 20.

Accessible voting units provide an audio and touch-screen ballot in English and Chinese. With large font and high contrast options and tactile devices, voting is made easy for people with partial or no vision and any voter with a disability.
