Annexation Area A-2 to the City of Lake Forest Park- Proposition No. 1

BALLOT TITLE
PROPOSITION NO. 1

Shall the area of unincorporated King County contiguous to the City of Lake Forest Park and commonly known as Annexation Area A-2, which is legally described in King County Ordinance No. 13245 and City of Lake Forest Park Resolution No. 525, be annexed to and become a part of the City of Lake Forest Park?

EXPLANATORY STATEMENT:
If Proposition No. 1 is approved, the area known as Annexation Area A-2, located in unincorporated King County contiguous to the City of Lake Forest Park, will become part of the City of Lake Forest Park. The proposed annexation will be approved if a majority of the votes cast are in favor of annexation.

STATEMENT FOR
Better Police Protection
Lake Forest Park (LFP) has twice the number of police per 1,000 people which means more security, visibility and quicker response time with the station only one mile away.

Larger Building Lots and Lower Taxes
LFP, where larger building lots require a minimum of 7,500 square feet (approx. 33% LARGER than Shoreline) keeping the community more attractive and home value high. Higher property value, lower tax rate. LFP current tax rate: $15.59/K. Shoreline: $16.18/K. LFP, a smaller population means your voice is heard and your concerns addressed.

Community Involvement
LFP being a 36 year old city has over 150 citizens who are deeply committed to their neighborhood and volunteer on these seven commissions: Library, Public Safety, Human Services, Planning, Parks and Recreation, Board of Adjustment, and Environmental Quality Control.

The outcome of this vote will impact us significantly, your vote could be the decisive one. There is more at stake here than taxes and government services.
