Mary Ann OTTINGER

Judge Mary Ann Ottinger has served the citizens of the Issaquah and Snoqualmie Valleys as District Court Judge since 1992. She consistently receives one of the highest ratings in King County from those who appear in her court. In 1997, she was named Judge of the Year by the State's probation officers, and in 1998, received similar recognition from the State Trial Lawyers Association.
As complex urban problems increasingly touch our previously rural lifestyles, we deserve experienced judges who can implement creative legal solutions using primarily local resources. Judge Ottinger's courtroom experience over twenty-five years allows her to efficiently handle everything from substantial commercial disputes to small claims. In the criminal justice arena, she balances a strong belief in individual accountability with an equal commitment to helping people turn their lives around. She regularly enlists local residents to serve as volunteer probation counselors and community resources for those in need of assistance. Judge Ottinger believes a court is a mirror of the community, and as such, should be fully integrated into community life.
The judge lives on the Sammamish Plateau with her two teenage sons and is active in a variety of community affairs.
