Robert E. McBETH
Judge McBeth has served as the elected judge of the Renton Division, King County District Court since 1981. He is the immediate Past-President of the Washington State District and Municipal Court Judges Association, having served on its Board of Governors since 1990. He has previously served as a member of the Washington State Minority and Justice Commission (Technical Advisor) and Board for Judicial Administration, which act to provide guidance and leadership for all levels of court in Washington.
Judge McBeth serves as a member of the Washington State Commission on Justice, Efficiency and Accountability, established by Chief Justice Barbara Durham; charged with reviewing the efficiency and accountability of all levels of courts in Washington.
Judge McBeth is a member of the Executive Committee of the ABA National Conference of Special Court Judges and chairs its national education committee.
Judge McBeth has been an active member of Renton Rotary, and has served as a citizen advisor for Cascade Elementary School, Talbot Hill Elementary School and Renton Alternative High School. He was a founder/Board Member of the Talbot Hill Elementary School Education Trust Fund.
Judge McBeth is married to Kathy, a Renton school teacher, and they have two grown children.
