King County HRI Toolkit |
Employers around the nation, both public and private, have seen their health care costs skyrocket. In the last few years, those costs have surged at a double-digit annual clip, far outstripping the rate of inflation. At this rate, King County’s health care obligation will double by 2012.
Health Advisory Task Force
In 2003 King County Executive Ron Sims convened the King County Health Advisory Task Force, a dynamic group of providers, economists, business, labor and government leaders to develop innovative strategies to slow escalating costs and improve the quality of health care in the region. The task force recommendations formed the basis of King County’s Health Reform Initiative.
