The following are general guidelines for creating committees with represented employees.
- Remember to involve represented employees’ union representatives in setting up committees. Be sure to:
- Contact the employees’ union representative prior to creating a committee
- Invite the union representative to be a member of the committee
- Allow the union to select the employee representatives to serve on the committee
- Limit your committee’s discussion to the topics you discussed with the union representative
- Do not make offers to confer a benefit
- Contact Labor Relations if you have questions
