Cultural Resources Protection Project

A collaborative effort to create a comprehensive system for documenting and treating cultural resources.

________________________________________

The King County Cultural Resource Protection Project (CRPP) is a countywide integrated system for documenting, addressing and treating cultural resources.  This system and related environmental planning tools (including geographic information system (GIS) data layers, a tabular database tracking cultural resource reports, an archaeological resource context statement, and a site sensitivity model) will provide more efficient compliance with federal, state, and local cultural resource laws.  Additionally, the system and its tools will expedite County construction projects; will provide a model for other agencies within and outside King County to approach resource protection; and will enhance interpretive and outreach missions of project planners by development of a public education resource center.
