The University of Washington Business and Economic Development Program (BEDP) was founded and is sustained through a partnership between community-based organizations, corporations, professional associations, small business owners, elected officials, and the UW Business School. The BEDP is guided in its work by an advisory board comprised of leaders from these organizations and is funded exclusively by contributions from individuals, corporations and foundations.
Through intensive consulting and summer intern programs, the BEDP program focuses on job creation and retention within its target communities.
King County is a partner with the BEDP on projects including the White Center Business District Revitalization and Bellevue Entrepreneur Center.
